PROCESSING

The finest coffees are not achieved by accident, but by perfectly executed processing that starts from meticulous selection of well ripened coffee cherries, careful processing and by the relentless engagement of truly dedicated individuals.

To achieve this, CoffeeNet Coffee partnered with passionate coffee farmers and coffee experts that consistently ensure the highest quality is maintained.
With a team of experts in the coffee processing field, we strive to export the best tasting washed and naturals from the Uraga, Guji Zone.

If coffee beans have an excessively high moisture content, there is a risk of mustiness, mold growth and post- or overfermentation. Washed coffee frequently has a higher moisture content than unwashed coffee, due to the processing technique used, so meaning that it also releases more water vapor and is therefore more at risk from sweat.

Moisture damage (vapor damage, fresh and salt water damage) does not generally become apparent until several days after the beans have come into contact with water and is then manifested by a musty odor and visible changes to the beans. Exposure to wetness (excessive humidity, rain, sweat) turns the beans white, and sometimes subsequently black, moldy and swollen. A relatively long period of exposure to wetness results in a musty/rotten odor.

Uraga Coffee

The history of Uraga coffees began in the valley of Layo Teraga village which stood out as one of the best coffees as of now. Farmers in the area planted enormous coffee trees in their backyard as well as in the mountains decade ago allowing them to reap the fruits of their labor.

Our wet mill in Layo Teraga allows partner farmers to contribute red cherries as well as benefit from our recently constructed school project. Located at 1,980 meters above sea level, our wet mill is proximate to the Hawata River where we access water for processing our washed coffees. Given these ideal conditions, our farmers grow coffee in extremely high elevations which is remarkable on the cup of coffee that you enjoy.

Our team at CoffeeNet executes every task with precision, planning and dedication to process the best coffee Uraga has to offer consistently through our team of coffee experts in the ground with proven post harvesting skills as well as export coffees on a timely manner.
